SINDHI DIASPORA WALK IN PROTEST AGAINST  ENFORCED DISAPPEARANCES IN SINDH,  PAKISTAN

Sindhis living in the United States are organizing a protest march in Washington D.C., against enforced disappearances of Sindhi nationalists and political dissidents who have been forcefully disappeared by Pakistan’s military and intelligence agency Inter Service Intelligence (ISI).

This has been announced by Sufi Munawar Laghari, Executive Director of  Sindhi Foundation,  a Washington, D.C.,  based  non-profit organization for the human, cultural and political rights of Sindhis over the globe. One of the main objectives of Sindhi Foundation is to fight for the human rights of Sindhis in Sindh province presently in Pakistan.

“The enforced disappearances of hundreds of Sindhi nationalists  during the last thirteen years  has been a cause of grave concern for every member of Sindhi diaspora but Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has turned a deaf ear to it despite protests in Pakistan” he said.

In a press release issued from DC,   Habib Bhutto of JSQM North America has said, a large number of Sindhi nationalists including journalist, teachers, writers, poets, publishers and even minor boys are missing in the name of ‘national security’ in Pakistan. Writers are disappeared from their houses for writing or speaking against China’s economic invasion of resources in Sindh, he said.

Dr. Maqbool Halepoto, President of Sindhi Foundation has appealed to international  media, civil society, human rights groups, Sindhi diaspora and all humans whose heart aches over such gross human rights violations to join Sindhi Foundation and Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (a big number of whose members and leaders were disappeared and tortured to deaths) in “Walk  for Sindhi missing persons in Washington” from the White House to the residence of Pakistan’s ambassador to the US at Washington, D.C, on July 7th 2018, Saturday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
